Taste more and waste less: picnic in a jar

Using glass will make your picnic tasteful and trendy,
whether it’s in your own garden or the nearest park.

Ditch the plates

Don’t waste your time (and create excess waste) packing
disposable plates and cups. Serve your picnic in a jar.
Jars look great, are fun to fill, can be prepared ahead
of time and are easy to carry. The choices of ingredients
you can layer in your jar are endless (see below for suggestions).

Make your jar unique

Give life to old jars. Choose from our summer patterns (or create your own).

Instructions

Step 01: Remove all paper by soaking the jar in lukewarm water.
Step 02: Choose a label (or make your own)
Step 03: Fix it on your jar
Step 04: Fill the jar with food
Step 05: Glue the top label onto the lid

Yummy jar food

Couscous. Toss with oil, capers, chopped parsley, chopped black olives, red onions, salt and pepper.

Courgettes. Cut into large chunks, roast or grill with whole garlic cloves, combine with chopped tomatoes, dill, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Greek Pasta Salad. Cook fusilli (or other cut pasta), rinse in cool water; combine with chopped seeded tomatoes, cubed fresh mozzarella, olives, chopped basil, olive oil, salt and pepper.

The only condition: the jars & bottles need to be made of glass.

Make a bank from a mayonnaise jar or turn a cookie jar into a mini greenhouse.
