We’re putting together a beach clean-up crew, and we want you to be part of it. Will you raise a glass to the ocean, for the chance to join us in France?
How does an all-expenses-paid trip to Biarritz sound?
In Spring 2019, we’re sending a team of pan-European ocean lovers to the beautiful Atlantic coast for a lively day of beach clean-up, delicious food, and professional surfing lessons.
To enter, all you have to do is raise a glass to our oceans, snap a photo and share it with us on Twitter telling us why you should be part of our crew. Are you passionate about protecting marine life? Do you spend your weekends picking up at the beach? Do you just really, really want to go surfing?
We want to celebrate our love for the ocean, and make sure that we can continue to enjoy it for years to come. That’s why, as Friends of Glass, we’re working with Surfrider Foundation Europe for cleaner seas – and we’re asking you to join our global toast to the ocean. Glass packaging is endlessly recyclable, free of contaminants and will never end up as micro particles in our food chain. We can all play our part in protecting our ocean, and it starts with something as simple as buying and recycling just one extra glass bottle or jar each week.

Participation in the Contest is permitted to any person over the age of 18 and resident in the following countries: the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Participation will require Participants to post a picture on their Twitter account, representing their love for the ocean. The picture will have to include glass, and the post has to include a caption explaining their interest in participating in the Contest. One person per country will be selected as winner, for a total of five winners. Winners will be informed in January 2019.

Glass bottles remain the best choice for wine lovers. New research showed that 94% of consumers in France prefer glass wine bottles over other packaging materials, such as bag-in-box. But why is it that we think of glass when we think of wine? Or why do we often store them horizontally? And are wine bottles sustainable?
